Required Configuration

Hardware requirements

Modeler and Server require this hardware configuration:

  • Processor: 2 Ghz 64-bit (x64)
  • Disk space: 1 GB 

The Server requires at least 4 GB of RAM. The Modeler requires at least 2 GB of RAM. These requirements will have to be evaluated depending on the size of your models.

The server and the database must be on the same machine (or on distinct machines if the network latency between them is lower than 1ms).

We recommend a latency lower than 5ms between the server and the client. Usually, network stability and performance impact the stability and the performance of the solution. Particularly, wireless infrastructures (Wifi) are not supported.

It is necessary to open one port on the server (8080 by default).

Software requirements

Obeo SmartEA requires this software configuration:

Server

  • Open JDK (Temurin – https://adoptium.net/) version 17 64 bits  – On Linux only.
  • PostgreSQL version 13.x, 14.x, 15.x or 16.x.
  • Operating system: Windows or Linux.

Modeler

  • Open JDK (Temurin – https://adoptium.net/) version 17 64 bits  – On Linux and Mac only.
  • Operating system: Windows, Linux or MacOS (mac OS 13 – Ventura).
  • HTML renderers:
    • Windows: Microsoft WebView2. The use of the default rendering engine of the Windows operating system is strongly discouraged for security reasons if it is Internet Explorer.
    • Mac: Operating system default rendering engine

Developer

  • Open JDK (Temurin – https://adoptium.net/) version 17 64 bits.
  • Operating system: Windows or Linux.
